Fitness and Surf Squad

For teen and adult members of all ages over 13 to continue to experience the benefits of a structured swim program.

There are 2 fitness squads catering to the unique needs and abilities of this group:

  • Comp Fit & Surf squad
    • 3 sessions running Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
    • Caters for competitive swimmers training for triathlons, open water events, surf club and the Rotto Channel Swim.
  • Fitness & Surf squad
    • 3 sessions running Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
    • Caters for swimmers wanting to maintain and improve fitness, technique and endurance through a structured swim program

Key Objectives

Sessions will include competitive training techniques to allow members to maintain health and fitness whilst giving the opportunity to prepare for Masters and Open Water Swim events (for those who wish to do so). Members are encouraged to engage in club activities in order to enjoy the social aspects of a swimming club and to provide an example to our younger generations of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle in adulthood.

Skills Development

There will be 2 tiers of skill development in this squad to allow a wider range of swimming abilities. Sessions offered are those for intermediate and advanced swimmers to enhance their skills, strength and fitness.
