On Friday night, 9th October, we celebrated the return of Friday Club Nights and the launch of our new name SBSC with a massive record turn out. 73 swimmers competing, over 150 members, friends and family attended and consumed 71 hot dogs, 80 burgers, 62 juice boxes and 15 bottles of water, as well as lolly bags and a few other goodies kindly donated by our members.

A huge thanks to everyone that attended, donated food and volunteered to help. So many volunteers made the night run very smoothly!!

A big shout out to our 2 special guests, Local Stirling Councilor Stephanie Proud and Paralympian & Swimming WA Foundation Ambassador Joshua (The Hoff) Hofer OAM who brought along some of his Olympic medals to inspire the kids. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedules to help us celebrate our new name.

Special mention to coach Cam who came straight off the bus from the National Squad’s “Hell Week” camp, straight into speeches and coaching. His voice was pretty much gone by the end of the night but he was back up bright and early the next day for training.

Looking forward to this weekend when we launch our new name officially at our 1st long course meet of the summer season at HBF Stadium. Good luck to our 42 swimmers competing, some for the 1st time.
